Foundry is a music studio for Windows and Linux: audio, MIDI and drum tracks, a full mixer, 33 built-in effects and VST3 plugins that can never crash your song.
No installation: unzip anywhere, even a USB stick. Settings stay in its own folder.
Unzip the folder anywhere.
Run Foundry.exe inside it. Keep the folder together.
Foundry-1.0.7-win-x64-portable.zip
Linux
64-bit Linux: Ubuntu 24.04 and newer, Debian, Fedora, openSUSE and others. Works with PipeWire, PulseAudio, ALSA and JACK. Every package installs the same Foundry.
Every download starts as the demo: every feature works, but projects cannot be saved and nothing can be exported. Buy a licence, enter your key under Licence… in Foundry, and saving and exporting turn on. Your licence works on each of your computers, Windows and Linux alike.
Everything you need to write, record, mix and export a song.
Audio tracks edited without ever changing the original recording.
A piano roll that knows your key and scale and builds chords.
A drum machine with velocity, chance, swing and your own samples.
A mixer with buses, sends, VCA groups and a master chain.
33 effects with 330 presets, sidechain and a spectrum analyser.
VST3 plugins, each in its own protected process.
Automation of every fader, effect and plugin setting.
Export to WAV, FLAC or MP3, as a mix or stems, at streaming loudness.
Help
The user manual covers installing, every feature and troubleshooting. It is also in Foundry under ? → User manual (F1).
Checking your download
Each file's SHA-256 checksum is on its card (click to copy) and in SHA256SUMS. On Windows: Get-FileHash Foundry-Setup-1.0.7.exe. On Linux: sha256sum -c SHA256SUMS --ignore-missing.
Foundry checks this page for a new version when it starts (you can turn that off under ? in Foundry) and shows it in the status bar. Install the new version over the old one the same way you installed it. Projects, settings, presets and your licence are kept. For the portable version, copy the new files over the old folder and keep its data folder.
